Developing the capacity of the workers

Every year we welcome students from the Ecole des Mines de Nantes for their operator internship. In 2006, we had three students, who had contacted us at a forum.
For the company, it's an interesting exchange in two ways:
it gives us greater flexibility in personnel management during the traditional holiday period and we provide solutions to issues which we do not have time to look at normally, since the trainee makes organizational proposals.
We have recently been in full deployment of the basic production units (UEPs).
This new organization is mobilizing workers on transversal assignments such as customer quality, safety or profitability. To achieve this, the workers must handle certain computer tools. For workers aged 20-30 everything goes smoothly
.
However, for workers in their fifties, there is a blockage. They are not familiar with this tool and are often afraid of it. Trainees therefore created overlays with predefined input fields just like a piece of paper so that the older workers could cope more easily.. They just had to fill it in. It was very positive because it broke down taboos and enabled the workers to develop their abilities.
C’était très positif parce que ça a fait tomber des tabous et permis aux ouvriers de développer leurs capacités.
