Studying at the Ecole des Mines de Nantes


Being a student at the Ecole des Mines de Nantes, means much more than just academic study.. It involves training adapted to the needs of the corporate world as well as to the needs of the student in terms of personal development. AND it provides every student with an international profile.

Student admission is possible in several ways and at different levels :

  • 1 – Common core -Cycle de base- (4 semesters)

The 1st and 2nd years constitute the common core: development of scientific knowledge, discovery of the corporate world, its human and economic environment and an introduction to project management

  • 2 - GRADUATE SCHOOL (4 semesters)

The following two years constitute the « Graduate school »: Students choose an « Option » (Major) according to their future career orientation. Students carry out an internship abroad at the end of the first graduate year (M1), and become increasngly involved in more specialised training. Their studies culminate in the capstone graduation project, which is a real springboard to their future career.

Student admission :

Admission is possible either to the common core – Cycle de base - or to the Graduate School depending on the prior studies of the student.:


  • Candidates from CPGE (Preparatory Classes for Grandes Ecoles) Admission is based on a competitive entrance exam.
  • Candidates from university. Recruitment is based on qualifications or diplomas obtained at university for holders of a Licence (Bachelor’s degree) in a scientific domain. These students join the second year of theCommon core – Cycle de base.
  • Candidates from university. Recruitment based on qualifications or diplomas obtained at university for students who have completed their first Masters year (M1) in a scientific domain. These students are admitted to the first year of the Graduate School.

    Il existe des modalités spécifiques d'admission pour des élèves étrangers dans le cadre d'accords GEM (AST internationaux) ou dans le cadre des accords avec les établissements partenaires de l'école (transferts de crédits et parcours bi-diplômants).
