Contexte
This module gives students the opportunity to carry on a comprehensive project on selected innovative topics of the Master’s degree program. It may correspond to a specific area or a multidisciplinary problem. It gives students the opportunity to apply one or several courses of the program to research or innovative problems encountered in companies. The project is carried on as a team and constitutes a preparation of the project context that will be encountered in the internship and in future professional situations.Objectifs

The goal of the LPS project is to carry on a study pertaining to a current challenge in the general field of the Master’s program and propose solutions using methodologies and knowledge taught in the program or achieved through the project. The project enables the student to apply a project management methodology to address a complex problem or current challenge of supply chain management, production systems or transport systems planning.Competences requises

Depending on the specific topic, the project may call for any or several of the modules taught in the program, including project management and team working. The student must also generally carry on additional search through bibliography, web search for information or interviews with researchers or professionals of the field.Activités pédagogiques
Proposed projects are to be undertaken by groups of students (usually two). The projects are tutored by experts among the permanent and adjunct faculty and possibly from industry. The students have to define precisely the scope of the projects with their tutors, the methodology and techniques to be used, the data to be collected and analysed, the models to be developed, the results expected and results to be produced at the end of the project. A planning of the tasks of the project has to be designed and followed up.Supports pédagogiques
The projects must rely on a bibliography of the topic, the analysis of the problem and the development of a specific methodology to achieve the goal.Critere et mode d'evaluation

Deliverables1. detailed project road map:
A 3 pages document has to be produced after 1 month (deadline October 10) detailing the elements described above.
2. Project report.
A report written in French or English will be produced at the end of the project covering all aspects of the project. The report must be submitted one full week before the date of the oral defence. Students have to submit a paper and a PDF copy of the report.
3. Oral defence
An oral defence of the project is made IN FRENCH at a date to be defined towards the end of Semester 2. The students receive the support of the French language professors in preparation of their oral defence (they present their oral defence to the French professors about one week before
the date of the oral defence. The final slides of the oral defence must be submitted at the latest the day before the oral defence.
